DECOMPOSED BODY PARTS OF WOMAN, BUNCH OF HAIR FOUND NEAR DELHI METRO SITE

Police on Saturday recovered decomposed body parts of a woman and a bunch of hair close to a Rapid Metro construction site in southeast Delhi's Sarai Kale Khan. Police received information about the discovery of body parts near the Sarai Kale Khan ISBT, adjoining the flyover, the flyover of a Rapid Metro construction site, at 11.56 am.

The police received information about the discovery of body parts near the Sarai Kale Khan ISBT, adjoining the flyover of a Rapid Metro construction site, around noon, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Rajesh Deo told news agency PTI.

Upon reaching the spot, the police found dismembered human body parts in various stages of decomposition and a bunch of hair.

The crime scene was inspected by a crime team and forensic experts. The remains were transferred to AIIMS Trauma Centre for further proceedings. Efforts are being made to ascertain the identity of the victim.  

Delhi Police has registered an FIR under Section (302) of the Indian Penal Code and have launched an investigation. The police team has collected the CCTV footage of the spot and sources said prima facie the recovered body parts and hair belonged to a woman.

Recently, a 28-year-old man, Aaftab Poonawala, was arrested for murdering his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar, chopping her body parts, storing them in a fridge before dumping them in a forest in south Delhi's Mehrauli over several days.
