Always apply a lip balm with an SPF in it, this will protect your lips from the sun's harmful rays as well as moisturise them. Use a moisturising lip oil with it, once daily or every other day for an extra boost. If you have very dry lips and cannot find a lip balm with SPF in it, then use some petroleum jelly around the edge of your lips to protect them from harmful rays as well as moisturise them.
Apply a lip scrub once weekly. Use a toothbrush to gently scrub your lips once or twice a day, this will help remove dead skin and prevent them from building up over time along with making room for new growth. You can also use a warm washcloth to gently rub your lips for about two to three minutes instead of a toothbrush.
Drink at least eight glasses of water a day, this will keep your lips hydrated and healthy.
Eat food that is rich in vitamins A and E, they are both known as the best nutrients for healthy skin. Some examples include avocados, eggs, spinach, sunflower seeds and olives.
Get plenty of sleep at night, it is important that you get at least seven to eight hours every night in order for your body to heal itself from all the damage done during the day.
Limit smoking or chewing gum, as these two habits are known for being the biggest causes of chapped lips in adults.
Always apply a lip balm after you have eaten or drunk something cold, this will help keep your lips moisturised throughout the day. Remember to apply Vaseline around your lips before going to bed, this will help prevent them from drying out overnight.

Use a hydrating facial moisturiser or serum. The moisture from the serum or moisturiser will provide extra hydration to your lips when you apply the product to your face.
